Nevada County is the heart of the Northern California gold rush country. Located in the Sierra Foothills, Nevada County has a variety of Real Estate property, whether you want acreage, views, lake front, horse property, a historic Victorian in town or a mountain home. Nevada City and Grass Valley are both restored Victorian towns located just three miles apart and at approximately 2,400 feet in elevation. With a combined population of approximately 15,000 people, they maintain a small town ambiance. In 1997, Time magazine ranked Grass Valley as one of the ten most desirable small cities in which to live. Just down the road are Penn Valley and the gated golfing and boating community of Lake Wildwood. Nevada County is located one hour from Truckee and North Lake Tahoe, with some of the finest world class ski resorts, one hour from the State Capitol of Sacramento and two and a half hours from San Francisco. Nevada County's recreational areas are second to none, including lakes and rivers, with boating, water skiing, rafting, kayaking, hiking, snow skiing and mountain biking. Placer County stretches from the Roseville and Granite Bay in the West to Lake Tahoe in the East. Placer County is divided into three geographical areas: The foothills - Roseville to Penryn; The Gold Country - Newcastle to Dutch Flat; and The High Sierras - Alta to Tahoe. All offer numerous recreational and diverse real estate opportunities, from farm land, to tract home developments, to mountain style homes, Placer County offers it all: Tahoe skiing, rafting and fishing on the American River, water skiing on Folsom Lake, and much more. |
